GENERAL DESCRIPTION / PURPOSE:
The HR Intern plays an important role in attaining business results by working closely with Talent & Recruitment, HR Business Partners, Learning & Development on day-to-day tasks such as scheduling and conducting interviews as assigned, assisting in gathering information and preparing HR-related reports, maintaining records and personnel files, assist with planning employee-focused events, and completing special projects. At the end of the summer, the HR Intern will present his/her findings and work product to the senior leadership team.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Support Talent Acquisition function in the sourcing, selecting, and onboarding process of new hires.
- Talent management.
- Observe labor relations meetings and discuss labor issue mitigation strategies.
- Project work will be focused on timely industry topics with the purpose to introduce interns to the industry while providing the organization with valuable business information.
- Participate in intern social activities and network with the Loram leadership team.
- Provide administrative support.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: Enrolled in a Human Resources Management or related educational program at the Junior level or above
- Strong project management, problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
- Ability to accomplish tasks and processes accurately and completely
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment
- Detail oriented
- Proficient in MS Office Suite
- Ability to handle confidential information in a professional and discrete manner
- Legally authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis without the need for sponsorship for an employment visa in the future
