Loram is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Maintenance Planner to join our team. This role is critical in supporting the safe, efficient, and effective execution of maintenance activities across our operations.
As a Maintenance Planner, you will work closely with technical teams, operations, and contractors to ensure that maintenance work is well-planned, resourced, and executed in line with our asset management and reliability goals.
Work structure: Site travel when required to Karratha – 5:2
Key Responsibilities:
Work Order Management
-
Review maintenance requests for clarity and validity.
-
Create actionable work orders with accurate job plans, labor, parts, and documentation.
-
Update job plans based on best practices, safety requirements, and technical feedback.
Weekly & Shutdown Planning
-
Develop weekly maintenance schedules aligned with operational priorities and resource availability.
-
Coordinate with stakeholders to confirm downtime windows and schedule alignment.
-
Support shutdown planning by bundling tasks, managing risk, and staging pre-work.
Parts & Resource Coordination
-
Ensure material and resource availability through timely ordering and coordination.
-
Maintain safety stock levels and proactively manage long-lead items.
-
Work with supply chain teams to improve forecasting and reduce delays.
Data & Compliance Oversight
-
Monitor work order status, including overdue and incomplete jobs.
-
Ensure accurate close-out data, including labor hours and findings.
-
Audit compliance with preventive and corrective maintenance plans.
Communication & Stakeholder Engagement
-
Act as a liaison between maintenance, operations, engineering, and performance teams.
-
Lead or contribute to planning meetings with updates on schedules, backlogs, and issues.

Provide clear reporting on KPIs, compliance, and planning performance.
Continuous Improvement
-
Analyse maintenance data to identify trends and recurring issues.
-
Recommend and implement improvements to task frequencies, plans, and execution.
-
Support reliability initiatives by linking work history with root cause analysis.

Loram’s Maintenance Planners also play a key role in supporting broader technical and operational activities, including:

Providing technical guidance to site teams on job execution and fault diagnosis.

Coordinating breakdown responses and engaging engineering support as needed.
-
Assisting with budgeting and forecasting for maintenance tasks and parts usage.
-
Managing logistics and site setup for major maintenance events.
-
Supporting parts management through identification, tracking, and reservations.
-
Logging and monitoring Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) through to completion.
-
Planning and scheduling the execution of approved ECRs within the maintenance program.
About You:

Strong background in maintenance planning or coordination in an industrial, rail, or heavy equipment environment.

Excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Proficient in interpreting technical documentation and translating it into actionable plans.

A continuous improvement mindset and ability to analyse data for trends and insights.

Familiarity with CMMS systems (experience with specific platforms a plus, but not required).
