GENERAL DESCRIPTION / PURPOSE:
This role of ETL Developer will be responsible for the data in the data warehouse integration process. They are responsible for designing, engineering, and implementing the ETL pipelines that extract data from various source systems, transforming the data based on requirements and design, and loading it into the data warehouse. Candidates must have a strong understanding of data modeling, SQL, and ETL tools such as Informatica, Talend, or SSIS. This role will support in the assurance of data accuracy for use in reporting and analysis.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Designing and implementing robust data warehouse architectures that support business requirements.
- Collaborating with business analysts and data scientists to understand analytical needs and deliver appropriate data structures.
- Writing complex SQL queries for data manipulation and retrieval.
- Assisting in the creation of data models that accurately represent business processes and support analytics.
- Developing ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to integrate data from multiple sources into a centralized repository.
- Ensuring the security of the data warehouse and compliance with data governance standards.
- Optimizing data warehouse performance through indexing, partitioning, and query tuning.
- Testing and troubleshooting data systems to ensure accuracy and quality of data.
- Assist in documenting the data warehouse environment and maintaining metadata repositories.
- Assist in providing support and training to end-users on data warehouse usage and best practices.
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, data science, statistics, applied mathematics, software engineering or related fields.
- Preferred master’s in computer science or information systems.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 10+ years of relevant professional experience.
- 5+ years of experience in SQL/ETL development tools.
- 5+ years of database development experience with Oracle or SQL Server.
- 3+ years of hands-on working with dimensionally modeled data, data marts and data warehouses.
- Any experience with a cloud platform like Azure or AWS.
- Proficiency in SQL required.
- Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts and best practices.
DESIRED SKILLS:
- Well organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Solid communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work on a team.
- Ability to drive work to completion and escalate when necessary.
- Ability to learn new skills and technologies as needed.
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric with the Power BI Reporting Services.
