GENERAL DESCRIPTION / PURPOSE:
The Sales Engineer II OEM supports Loram’s objective of increasing part sales and enhancing service levels to OEM customers by collaborating closely with Sales Engineering staff and OEM Customer Service. They play a pivotal role in maintaining the service parts portfolio for all OEM sold equipment (180+ machines), ensuring alignment with recommended preventive maintenance templates and activities in Loram’s ERP system Service and Maintenance module.
Strategic and Functional
- Assist in maintaining preventive maintenance tasks and spare part templates in the Service and Maintenance module for Loram’s equipment. Provide input on standard part catalogs across product lines, including safety stock for new equipment, annual operating and maintenance spares, and overhaul parts. Aid in distinguishing between warranty and non-warranty parts to streamline warranty claim evaluations.
- Collaborate with Loram subsidiaries (LUK, PTY, Loram do Brazil, and LTI) on aftermarket parts, kits, and services tailored to specific markets and customer bases. Work with OEM Customer Service to communicate available upgrades via Loram E-commerce platforms.
- Support tender and contract responses by focusing on specifications such as manuals, part books, initial spare lists, warranty terms, technical support, and SLA commitments. Ensure responses align with Loram’s product vision and enhance aftermarket potential.
Operational Excellence
- Work independently and alongside Engineering, Product Management, and OEM Customer Service to develop and market rebuild kits, upgrade kits, and software upgrades for OEM customers. Assist in evaluating new equipment designs, fleet upgrades, project change orders, and service bulletins for aftermarket opportunities.
- Utilize Engineering documentation and machine Bill of Materials (BOMs) to optimize customer orders by eliminating unnecessary parts.
- Contribute to updating Loram’s annual E-commerce plan, aligning it with OEM sales strategies and other Loram subsidiaries’ plans.
- Ensure the Service and Maintenance modules and Loram E-commerce platforms reflect current technical content and product changes. Collaborate with the Engineering Technical Writing group to create intuitive, customer-focused content.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: Associate degree in Engineering or related field.
- Experience: 3+ years in Engineering or related discipline; 2+ years working with BOM structures, schematics, and related software; 2+ years of experience with Excel, ERP/IFS, Word, CAD, or related software; 2+ years of experience working directly with external and internal customers.
*5+ years equivalent combination of education and experience.
