LORAM MAINTENANCE OF WAY
The railway track maintenance industry is a business dominated by just a handful of highly specialised firms. One of the global leaders in the industry is Loram Maintenance of Way, Inc. Loram is comprised of a fleet of over 250 highly sophisticated machines, designed and built by Loram, that operate on all types of railways throughout North America and around the globe. Today, Loram is still a privately owned company and has grown to employ over 1,800 employees around the world. Loram UK is a subsidiary based in the heart of the RTC located in Derby and currently employees 160 employees. Loram UK builds, operates and maintains rail grinding vehicles and performs heavy overhauls of railway vehicles from its Derby site.
