GENERAL DESCRIPTION / PURPOSE: The EHS Data Analyst is responsible for collecting, cleaning, analyzing, and interpreting Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) data to support compliance, performance improvement, and strategic decision-making. This role standardizes and automates EHS dashboards and reporting tools, enabling data-driven insights that enhance workplace safety and operational excellence.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Data Collection & Analysis
- Gather, clean, and validate data from various internal and external sources.
- Conduct statistical analyses to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in EHS data.
- Maintain and enhance systems and databases to improve data quality and accessibility.
Dashboard Development & Reporting
- Design, develop, and maintain standardized dashboards and automated reports using tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
- Monitor EHS metrics (e.g., TRIR, near-miss reports, training completion) and provide regular updates to leadership.
- Ensure reporting accuracy and consistency across business units.
Insight Communication & Strategy Support
- Translate technical data into actionable insights for EHS and cross-functional teams.
- Present findings in a clear, concise, and non-technical manner to a variety of audiences.
- Support enterprise initiatives by aligning data insights with strategic safety goals.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in statistics, mathematics, computer science, or economics.
Experience: 5+ years of experience as a Data Analyst
Licenses/Certifications: Google Data Analytics Professional Certificate or the Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate
In lieu of education 9+ years of equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Database management: knowledge of how to query and retrieve data using SQL
- Some proficiency in programming languages
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Master’s degree in statistics, mathematics, computer science, or economics.
Experience: 5+ years’ experience in a similar role.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proficiency in data querying.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
- Ability to clearly present technical information to non-technical audiences.
- Proven record in previous position.
- Knowledge of Environmental Health and Safety data
