GENERAL DESCRIPTION / PURPOSE:
The Manager Inspection Services is responsible for providing support in the various needs within the Aurora Division and Operations Department, including routine administrative duties, technical tasks, interpersonal challenges and leadership challenges.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Talent Development
- Attend continuing Company internal and customized training.
- Monitor and reinforce compliance with the training programs, as well as provide feedback on curriculum, operations procedures, and processes training concepts for Assistant Managers and Superintendents
- Responsible for promotions, advancements, salary adjustments, or disciplinary actions
Accountabilities and Responsibility
- Oversee automated tie inspection and tie marking vehicles per instructions from the Railroad Customer.
- Perform routine inspection and preventative maintenance, including but not limited to, performing mechanical adjustments (solely or assisted by a mechanic), use typical mechanic and electrician tools to test equipment, and dismantle, repair, and reassemble various components of equipment.
- Perform radiation audits
- Perform Field Interactions
- Responsible for Safety in Aurora Division
- Clean debris and lubricants from parts, work area, and equipment.
- Check and fuel vehicles and equipment.
- Perform work in technical areas such as fabrication, assembly, welding, burning, cutting, and pipefitting.
- Perform all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards
Communications
- Communicate with Vice-President Operations, Director Fleet Operations, Assistant Managers, Service Planning Department and operators to coordinate job information and provide field service support.
- Communicate with Customers and Vendors to establish long term business relationships
- Complete routine paperwork as required.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Associate Degree with Technical Certification
Experience:
5+ Years of Knowledge and understanding of fleet operations function
1+ Years of ability to manage multiple work sites and ability to focus on people and safety, as well as speed, performance, and reliability.
2+ Years of ability to make sound business decisions in accordance with Company values, mission, and vision.
3+ Years Experienced with delivering against customer expectations and a high sense of urgency environment that demands safety, first and foremost, at all times.
1+ Years Experienced in leading and motivating teams to drive employee engagement in servicing customers and achievement of objectives.
1+ years of managing 24/7 field operations
1+ Years of working knowledge working with MS Windows.
Licenses/Certifications: Maintain Railroad Certifications
Maintain Texas Radiographer Certification
Maintain a valid Driver’s License, in order to be insurable by the Company insurance company.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knows and understands operation, maintenance, and repair of specialized components.
- Working knowledge of hazards, safety precautions and operating limits of the equipment operating.
- Must have general knowledge and understanding of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Need to know how to use a computer.
- Knows and understands what it is to communicate with a customer.
- Ability to perform physical labor and heavy manual tasks under varying weather conditions to accomplish goals.
- Ability to safely operate, maintain, and perform minor repairs on heavy equipment.
- Ability to rapidly locate nearest source of help as necessary with limited resources.
- Ability to read and write; to understand and carry out routine oral and written instructions.
- Ability to make independent judgements which have considerable impact on the organization.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, supervisors, and the Customer.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- CDL Driver’s License
Experience: 3+ Years experience operating Aurora Xi truck
4+ Years experience using heavy equipment.
