Job Title: Engineer I, Product
FLSA Status: Exempt
Department: Engineering
Reports to: Chief Engineer
Flex Work Eligible! This position qualifies for the Flexible Work Policy. Employees receive 30 work days annually to work from home! The initial amount of days is prorated for the first year based on start date.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION / PURPOSE:
The Product Engineer is responsible for assisting with activities involving Loram products, including all technical aspects of the products from conceptual design through validation. This role assists the Chief Engineering department to develop, market, and support Loram products. This role is also responsible for supporting development of equipment design and generating equipment proposals under the direction of a senior engineer or Chief Engineer.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Functional & Technical Skills
- Contribute to proposal activities by generating proposal information including scope of work, initial BOM, and conceptual layouts.
- Assist with the management and identification of market data, machine configurations, machine specifications, and productivity information.
- Assist with identification of product options, variants, and standard components.
Collaboration
- Generate CAD concept layouts of low to moderate complexity to assist with proposals and Chief Engineer product vision.
- Assist the production engineering and product support teams as needed to produce designs that match the product vision.

Qualificações
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: BS in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering
Experience: 0+ years of experience supporting development of equipment design and generating equipment proposals.
Licenses/Certifications: Obtain and maintain railroad safety training and credentials
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Working knowledge of business software including MS Office suite.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience: 0+ years’ experience with Heavy Equipment Design and product line development with multi-discipline engineering integration. Experience with proposal generation, project scoping and definition, cost estimation.
Licenses/Certification: EIT
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Autodesk and ERP software
