Job Responsibilities for Tax Intern


Assist Tax Department with preparation and documentation of wide variety of state and Federal tax filings and miscellaneous department projects.


  • Tax Department expense reports
  • State Annual reports and Business & Occupation Taxes
  • Abandoned Property reporting
  • Preparation of federal uniform capitalization (UNICAP) surveys to internal stakeholders
  • Canadian Reg. 105 reporting duties
  • Creation and updates to federal research and development spreadsheets
  • Review invoices from Onbase system for purposes of preparing Minnesota sales/use tax returns.
  • Processing of State corporate income tax returns for mailing
  • Processing of UK value added tax (VAT) information
  • Preparation of tax workpaper books and file folders
  • Record retention and storage activities
  • Significant ad hoc Excel spreadsheet creation and/or updating
  • Tax account reconciliations

·Excellent written and oral communication skills to be able to work effectively with internal and external customers.

·Responsible, accurate individual with the ability to meet defined due dates.

·The ability to work independently with little to no supervision.

·Adherence to company confidentiality requirements.

·The individual will follow Loram’s safety rules and regulations

Prefer person working on Bachelor of Accounting degree; and one year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Working knowledge of various PC based computer software packages including financial spreadsheets and word processing. Intermediate Excel.

Excellent communication and leadership skills when interacting with internal and external customers.

 The applicant will have the ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, and compute ratios and percents.

Ability to correctly make decisions involving client issues/ problems including when to escalate the problem to a more senior consultant
