SUMMARY: An internship position in the area of data analysis in a challenging engineering environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
Under the direction of the quality and production staff performs various data analysis and reporting tasks including but not limited to:
- Assists with predictive modelling and forecasting tasks.
- Conduct data profiling analyses to ensure data quality.
- Build web application reporting tools using R Shiny and ggplot2.
- Develops documentation for products/processes released to stakeholders.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: The individual must be pursuing a BS degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or related field and shall have achieved junior status or higher. The individual shall also have completed the "core" coursework for his/her chosen discipline.
COMPUTER SKILLS: Solid computer skills consistent with the position requirements to include, Windows office, Excel, and Lotus Notes.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: The ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing. The ability to communicate information and ideas in writing so others will understand.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Knowledge of regression analysis, multivariate analysis, network analysis, and their applications. The ability to choose the right mathematical or statistical methods to solve problems in data mining, predictive modelling, and image processing.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to correctly make decisions involving issues/ problems including when to escalate the problem to a more senior consultant
