Reports To: Sr. Manager, Quality and Continuous Improvement

Flex Work Eligible! This position qualifies for the Flexible Work Policy. Employees receive 50 work days annually to work remote! The initial amount of days is prorated for the first year based on start date. 

GENERAL DESCRIPTION / PURPOSE:

This position is responsible for planning, developing, and coordinating of operational process designed to ensure the quality and continuous improvement in manufacturing and supplied material. Primary oversight of quality assurance in the design-build-deliver process is the focus of this role from incoming component quality through outgoing equipment quality.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Strategic Leadership

  • Provide Total Quality Management (TQM) guidance to the company
  • Provide visionary leadership and implementation of industry leading processes in operational quality.
  • Influence strategy and support for operational value streams with a focus on optimized flow and process throughput.
  • Drive the mentality of upstream quality to peers and direct reports.
  • Ensure the development of resources to meet business objectives and quality processes through coaching and mentorship

Process Excellence

  • Support and sustain the “smart factory” effort of digitization through ROI analysis, planning, and status communication.
  • Develop and maintain procedures to sustain operational quality and the communication of results.
  • Work in conjunct with cross functional leaders to imbed quality controls and measures into daily functions.
  • Influence change through the proactive analysis of quality data.
  • Develop and maintain operational standard work procedures and instructions in accordance with internal and external requirements.
  • Develop and maintain operational best practices through the coordination of internal and external subject matter experts.
  • Perform internal quality audits, checking compliance and effectiveness and institute corrective action on any non-conformance found.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Bachelors Degree in Quality Engineering or related Engineering field

Experience: 5+ Years Quality Engineering experience.

Licenses/Certifications: Maintain Railroad Certifications

* Or 9+ years’ experience combining knowledge of Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, Design, Supply Chain, or Regulatory Assurance.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Licenses/Certifications: International Organization for Standardization 9000 & American Society for Quality Certification

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • ISO9000, Six Sigma, Lean and MRP/ERP systems.
  • Effective problem solving, root-cause analytical skills to lead and influence others to drive change (cross-functionally and globally).

WORKING CONDITIONS:
