GENERAL DESCRIPTION / PURPOSE:
The Inspection Vehicle Mechanic is a fleet mechanic responsible for the mechanical maintenance of fleet vehicles, as well as assembly using prints/schematics, parts ordering, prototype building and testing in the shop and field on newly built and currently serviceable hi-rail track equipment. This position is based out of the Georgetown, TX headquarters site with no provisions for relocation, though open to all. Our mechanics work with some of the most technology forward equipment in the railroad industry. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Outfit Large Trucks and railcars with accessories and custom assemblies.
- Perform equipment maintenance, procurement, and setup.
- Complete prototype development, assembly, and testing support.
- Perform benchmark testing and pre-production testing support.
- Order, deliver, pickup and installation of parts.
- Fill out and maintain documentation related to testing and parts procurement.
- Communicate effectively with all stakeholders in order to complete projects in a timely manner.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: High School Diploma or GED
Experience: Minimum 1-year experience of mechanical work; working with a cutting torch and welding machine
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Problem solving/analysis
- Technical capacity
- Basic computer skills
- Knowledge of or ability to learn 3-D CAD software (Autodesk Inventor)
*Or equivalent combination of education and experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Associates degree in a related field or a Technical degree
Licenses/Certifications: Maintain Mechanical Training – Technical Electric, Hydraulic, or Maintenance
